I realize that most of my followers are not old enough to remember the “Cold War” first hand. neither do my children or the majority of my co-workers and for this I am exceedingly glad! I myself came along late in the global thermonuclear war game, I only had to do the bomb drills ( “put your head between your knees at your assigned desk children! So the government officials know who got vaporized”) and live with the fear of being nuked for the first 18 years of my life, I suppose it may be worse for the children of that era who were from an area or areas like Colorado springs Colorado home of NORAD, and at least 30 known Titian missile sites, to this day if I hear a warning siren I freak out a bit because that’s what we were conditioned to feel! My father bellowing through the house * “when” (never if) the balloon goes up we’ve got 3 minutes to get underground or your going to be a shadow on the wall! In 1980 with the fall of the Berlin Wall we were able to stop worrying about the threat of being nuked! Now I feel those fears creeping back as tensions between Russia and Ukrainian mount! Russian President Putin “the latest mad man U.S.S.R. leftover” has rekindled my fears leaving me confident that the red balloon is not a fleeting thought, but a reborn nightmare! Today the UK pulled out of the G8 summit and where the UK goes the US is usually not far behind!
Just remember kids! *Stay at your assigned desk, bend forward and place your head between your knees and wait for the flash of light 🌋!”
I’m pretty sure you won’t feel it for long before vaporization happens! And to Those of you who are not lucky enough to be vaporized I am so, so sorry
